
Hello 8th Grade and Track parents/guardians, this is Mr. Rogers sending out a reminder about 8th grade individual promotion and track pictures that are scheduled for Friday, April 11th. 8th grade individual pictures will start right away Friday morning at 8:30 am. As a reminder, 8th graders must follow the dress code and caps/gowns will be available if students would like them. If your student is gone on Friday, we will use their school picture in place of the individual picture being taken as we do not have a retake day for these pictures. Track pictures are scheduled for after school at 2:45 pm on Friday. If you need another packet or need the picture code to order online, please call our office at 683-2368, option 2.

Good morning 7th/8th grade band and choir parents/guardians,
As a reminder, the combined concert with the high school music department is coming up fast. Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 11th, all 7th and 8th grade music students will be performing. This is for a performance grade for all students and attendance is mandatory. If students are unable to attend, I must be notified immediately so an alternate assignment can be given to them.
Choir students need to arrive at the High School choir room at 6:15 pm. They will warm up with Mrs. Van Slyke and the high school choir students.
Band students need to arrive at the High School band room at 7 pm. They will warm up with Mrs. Raffety and the high school band students.
The combined performance begins at 7:30 pm.
This performance is open to the community. As such we want to represent our school through our performance. We ask that all music students dress up for the occasion. Concert dress for middle school students includes but is not limited to:
Khaki’s
Dress Slacks
Polo’s
Button up shirts
Suits with ties
Nice Blouses
Skirts
Dresses
Please don’t wear:
Sweats
Hoodies
Jeans
Tee shirts with graphic logos
Please remember that the school dress code applies to performances as well and all clothing must meet the school standards.
All the students have been working very hard to get ready for their performance. They are eager to show you what they have been working on this semester. We look forward to seeing you at the performance!

DMS 7th and 8th grade wrestlers depart to Deer Lodge at 12 pm today. There is no practice after school today for 6th graders due to Parent/Teacher Conferences.

DMS wrestling at Anaconda starts at 3 pm today at Memorial. 6th grade wrestlers have a regular practice tonight after school.

Good morning DMS wrestling parents/guardians, Butte Central changed their meet from this Thursday to Thursday, March 6th. The bus will depart that day at 1:00 pm. As a reminder, the most up to date schedule can always been found on our website.

Wrestling practice will be out at 5:00 pm tonight, 2/20/25, as our 8th graders need to be to the high school for freshman orientation at 5:30 pm.

DMS wrestling will depart to the wrestling tournament at the Butte Civic Center on Saturday, 2/22/25 at 7:30 am.

Congratulations to our Math Counts team and Mrs. Zier. They took first place in team score which included Mya Creighton, Ripley Reasoner, Kendalyn Martin, and Kestrel Aiken. Also, congrats to Lizzy Steadman who took 2nd place overall and Mya Creighton would took 3rd place overall. Our math counts participants will be moving to state on March 10th in Butte which is the first time since 2015.

Good morning 8th grade parents/guardians, this is Mr. Rogers sending out a message regarding the upcoming freshman orientation night. Last week, BCHS sent letter to all 8th grade families, but after hearing from some of you, it sounds like some of you may not have received that letter. I wanted to send out a message to all of you so you had the information and can get a date on your calendar.
The freshman orientation is scheduled for next Thursday night, 2/20/25, at 5:30 pm in the BCHS Auditorium. They ask that at least one parent/guardian attend with their child. This is a great opportunity to learn about courses offered at BCHS for your child as well as other pertinent information.

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls basketball will be done after Tuesday this week. As a reminder, 7th and 8th grade A teams play at home tonight in the DMS Gym (7th-4:30, 8th-5:30). In addition, all 7th and 8th grade teams have games at Butte East tomorrow at 4:00 and 5:00 pm. 6th grade girls practice today and tomorrow. If your daughter is wrestling, they may start with the team on Thursday after school.

Good afternoon, this is Randy Shipman, Superintendent at Dillon Elementary School District with an important announcement regarding bus students being dismissed early today, 2/7/25, due to inclement weather.
Today, all bus riders will be leaving school twenty minutes earlier than normal due to blowing and drifting snow. This will allow our bus drivers to safely navigate the roads and bus students to arrive home safely with a little extra time. Your child may be home a bit early due to the early dismissal time. All other students, other than bus riders, will be dismissed at their regular dismissal time. If you would like to make alternative plans, please contact your child’s office by 1:45 p.m.

6th and 8th grade girls basketball teams do not have practice tomorrow, 2/7/25. 7th grade will have practice until 4:00 pm tomorrow, 2/7/25.
As a reminder, on Monday, 2/10/25, there is a home game for 7th A at 4:30 pm followed by a home game for 8th A at 5:30 pm. These two games will be in the DMS Gym as wrestling has practice in the Parkview Gym. Tuesday, 2/11/25, the 7th and 8th grade girls A and B teams head to Butte East for games at 4:00 and 5:00 pm.

8th grade A team will play at 4:00 pm at Fred Moodry. There will be no 8th grade B game tonight apparently as they don't have enough players and we just found out. Our 7th grade A game will be at 5:00 pm but now at Fred Moodry.

Games have been confirmed today for girls basketball in Anaconda. As a reminder, 8th grade A plays first at 4 pm, followed by the B team at 5 pm. 8th grade games are Fred Moodry. 7th grade A team plays at 5 pm at Lincoln. Finally, 7th grade B has practice until 5 pm today.

Home games on Monday, 2/3, for our 7th and 8th grade B teams have been canceled by Deer Lodge due to weather. These game will not be made up as we don't have a common date to reschedule. 7th and 8th grade girls will have regular practice until 5 pm tonight.
As a reminder, Anaconda does not have a B team for 7th grade so the B team will not travel on Tuesday, 2/4, rather they will practice tomorrow until 5:00 pm. In Anaconda, 7th A plays at 5:00 pm at Lincoln while 8th plays at 4:00 and 5:00 at Fred Moodry (8th B plays first).
Practice will also be over at 5:00 pm for 7th grade on Thursday, 2/6. 8th grade parents, as a reminder, Friday's practices are over at 4:00 pm

As a reminder, 7th grade teams play in MT City at 4:00 and 5:00 pm. 7th grade B team will play first and be followed by the A team. Games will be at Montana City School, 11 McClellan Creek Rd, Clancy MT 59634.
8th grade teams play at East Valley Middle School at 4:00 and 5:00 pm. The 8th grade A team will play first followed by the B team and games are at East Valley Middle School, 401 N Kalispell Ave, East Helena, 59635.
